We are disheartened to see many African game developers copy Western concepts without polish or innovation, then simply add folklore to label them “African games.” Too often, cultural themes are pushed forward only as marketing bait to secure funding, with little respect for gamers or the craft of game development. This approach shows no passion, only calculation and greed, leaving the industry stagnant and our youth uninspired.
They excuse failure by claiming Africans prefer foreign titles, yet the real issue is clear: local games rarely deliver fun, quality experiences beyond cultural exhibition. That is why players choose polished titles like Subway Surfers over shallow alternatives.

Redemption lies in loving our work, respecting our craft, and prioritizing user experience above cultural showmanship. We must build games that are genuinely fun, innovative and globally appealing, celebrated not out of pity... but for their creativity and excellence.
